Manzanar was a consentration camp. It was located in owens valley. Manzanar contained barracks that were about the size of a living room and had one light bulb hanging from the ceiling. They had an oil stove to keep people warm and army cots with blankets. The people that were forced into Manzanar had enough to get by, but it wasn't a very happy place to live.
Manzanar was for the japanese during WWII. The goverment was worried that the Japanese were going to attack again so they sent them all to a Manzanar to moniter them. The camp was practialy in the middle of nowhere. The camp ran for 3 years and during that time there were many protests and riots. By the time the war was over each of the Japanese that got put through that horable treatment got $20,000.
Manzanar was a place were the Japanese were forced to live. They were treated horribly and they lived in horrible cots. They barely had enough to live, and they got sick and died all the time. Some hated it very much because they lost many of their family members so it was sad. When they would be forced to go to the camp your family would almost always be seperated and you would never see them again. Sometimes there would be familys who were lucky enough to stay together.
