I'm sure you have heard of a desert called Death Valley. You know the low -level desert. It has no water. Many people died from the lack of water. But I bet you don't know how it got below sea level.
Now I'm going to tell you how it dropped down to sea level. You see, one day two of the earth's plates where moving along. In about two hundred years, all of the sudden the two plates went in different directions, causing them to crash into each other, forming moutains in Death Valley. Then they dropped eight thousand feet below sea level. Now nature did not like the hole so it found a way to fill up this hole. How it did this was it filled it up with a layer of gravel. Then over time it filled it up with a layer of mud. And now it has a layer of sand on top of it all. Now it is only two hundred and fifty feet below sea level.
And this ends my report on Death Valley. We've learned a lot of stuff. Such as how this dry desert dropped really low below sea level. We also learned how it went up so much for years.
